Big Muff Bass or ODB3 or others

Hi

I'm after an overdive pedal to give a bit of a boost and tubey overdrive at the milder end of the distorion spectrum for when I'm not using my own amy (Marshall MB450 usually through the tude channel). The bass big Muff and Boss ODB3 both look interesting and are easy to come by second hand, does anyone have any thoughts or other suggestions. I'm looking to spend £30 to £40.
Cheers

I wouldn't recommend either of those pedals for mild drive. Whilst it they can do it to a degree, they both excel at high gain fuzz more than light overdrive.

I use a Catalinbread SFT for this purpose, although I'm interested in picking up a ZVex Basstortion, Fairfield Barbershop, Wampler Euphoria, Cusack Screamer, RunOffGroove Ginger, or Barber Direct Drive.

This site is a good resource for clips also, this dude has owned/built nearly every overdrive pedal going! http://johnkvintageguitars.homestead.com/Overdrive-Pedals.html

A lot of those pedals can be hard to come by over here, but if you order from somewhere like Prymaxe in the US, they always have 15% discount codes and cheap shipping to the UK.

Also, the RunOffGroove Ginger I mentioned is a DIY schematic that you could build within budget if you're up for the challenge!

Joyo Ultimate Drive.
Pretty cool pedal, much nicer sounding than the Boss, and unlike the Muff, it can do nice low gain sounds too.

And, cheaper than the link i posted earlier £18 delivered from the UK:

[/quote]Agreed I did not really get on with the Boss I thought it was a bit "fizzy" and I found the Muff a little overpowering for my taste I am really enjoying the Behringer vintage tube overdrive pedal atm it it is good value at around 25 quid

Delivery is from the UK if you select the UK warehouse. You can choose to have it sent from China too, although not sure why you would want to!

I must say, I love the ODB-3 though, my favourite high gain distortion. Through a dark sounding amp (Orange Terror) and tweeter-less cab, it rips.
