Gloryblues
Hi. I am blessed with a Trace Elliot Commando 15. It has black tolex covering, the big green 15 on the fascia and gloss black diamond steel grill. I have managed to blow the speaker (there's a thing) and there is no ledgible writing on the speaker to claim maker or impedance. It looks like a Celestion however, that is not the point. I cannot replace it until I know the correct inpedance to purchase. I would be grateful if anyone out there could tell me. I have put my ohm meter across the terminals and it reads 5.6 ohms. So neither 4 nor 8. I know it maybe altered by the fact that somthing is scraping (coil/magnet). Thank you in advance for your help.
geoffbyrne
If it reads 5.6 Ohms, then it will be a n 8 Ohm speaker. A 4 Ohm would read around 2.8 Ohms (ish). G.
Matte_black
It's definitely a 8ohm speaker. On ebay you can find a correct replacement. Or if you wanna invest more money you could go for a neo-powered unit that will be lighter but the cab could need to be modified (the reflex ports in particular) to fit the new speaker.
