examples of unexpected 12 bar blues, you know without "I woke up this morning"

Following on from the BBC radio 4 item on the 12 bar blues, they listed some examples that one could be forgiven for overlooking the fact that they are 12 bar blues, as they aren't like the usual "I woke up the morning" type stuff....any others come to mind as I'm a virgin to blues.....

...blues wouldn't normally be my monkey but I find playing bass to blues to be good fun...I must be getting old!?!

Someone told me that one of the Joni Mitchell songs with Jaco on it is a twelve-bar... if you can dig down through the arrangement and ornamentation. I forget which one :(

As far as the OP is concerned, I think you'd confuse a lot of people if you used the mantle 12 bar blues
with any of those songs...
The sequence needs to be 12 bar and the genre blues or bluesy....

For the term to be any use and mean anything it needs to be recognisable.
You couldn't say it is a 12 bar blues and count it in and get anywhere hear to hearing that
from people who understood the music...

And if you did use the term 12 bar blues for a song, you'd also have to tell the band it was
a shuffle or swinger etc ...plus the key..

LynSkyn, Call Me The Breeze. Just learned it this week for a rehearsal on Tues. Plays straight 12 bar except the 12 bars after the piano where it drops into a swing beat. The bassline also really stands out.

Much as I like Lynyrd Skynyrd, I can't let that suggestion go without mention of the more laid back approach of the original master behind the song:
