Clarky
Early 80's 62 reissue in seafoam green - never seen one in this colour before. Looks mint (groan). Seriously beautiful but surely at least £500 (if not £1000) over-priced? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1986-Fender-Jazz-Bass-Seafoam-Green-62-Reissue-Stack-Knob-/400659847515?pt=Gitarren&hash=item5d4930195b

Rick's Fine '52
Well, it is nice. Its a very rare custom colour. Its a stack knob. It has all the candy, none of which looks like its ever been fitted Its a Fullerton reissue, although not early enough for me, to make it a real 'collectable'. But, it is still a very rare bass, in 'collectors' condition, and therefore it will command top, top money. I agree though, its a grand overpriced for me.....at least. Cant see even the keenest surf green addict biting at that price. Its lush though isn't it. Love to see these in that condition. Personally, I'd much rather have this one, just as rare, mary kaye stack knob, blonde, gold. Half the price, just as nice. TheGreek
MIM version also on ebay, slightly less expensive: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-jazz-bass-special-/181330305832?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2a3820e328

TheGreek
You're right...I've done a comparison and the only thing they have in common is the colour (allegedly Sea Foam Green) and even this is questionable in the photos. Even so £180 for a MIM Fender isn't bad...
molan
Surely that's more like £1,500 or more overpriced? It's 'only' an RI and not even a Custom Shop. You could specify a brand new CS in this spec and finish for less! With a bit of shopping around you could even get an original '60's J with a refin for this kind of money (although probably not a stack knob). Hope it sells though, I could use it as a reference if I sell my '64 in the same colour

Rick's Fine '52
We're hardly comparing eggs with eggs her are we. Its definitely way over priced, but i personally haven't seen another in this spec/finish. He's obviously hoping a custom colour fullerton collector will jump, if they don't, the price will come down, nothing unusual in the sellers methods. As Barrie says, you can get a CS model for less, but then they are less rare, 2 on ebay now, heres one; http://bit.ly/1p8BMQy as for quality and authenticity of feel, if the price wasn't the issue, i know which one i'd have......actually thats not true, I'd have Barrie's '64!!! mart3442
I was offered a Fullerton made stack knob reissue ten years ago for a grand. I walked away. I should have bitten the guys hand off. Oh well..... This is overpriced in my view but it will be there in a few more years.
