BetaFunk
These were decent basses in their day and an absolute must for anyone now in a Korgis tribute band. I seem to remember that Geoff Gale was a Luthier in Bristol. Edited February 22, 2014 by BetaFunk
BetaFunk
I would have snapped that up if i lived near there. Another example of a quality bass that no one is going to take much notice of because they aren't fashionable. Fashion rules in the bass world as much as anywhere else which means some great bargains can be found for those who don't mind being unfashionable. gelfin
Gale guitars used to be at Alma Vale Rd, Bristol. That was at least 35 years ago. He made some pretty modern shape for that time. The Pulsar comes to mind. Also he may have been the pioneer of scalloped frets. I remember trying one out and thought it was unplayable. Bit of searching found this. BetaFunk
This thread got me thinking. There seems to be a good few experts on Japanese basses but perhaps not many experts on the lesser known basses that were built on our own doorstep. The world of basses is a funny old game.
