Double Bass 3/4 Hungarian student model. Ply sides carved top 1950's.

Inc very thick soft zipped cover.

Top quality ebony fingerboard cut to 2 octaves. Work carried out by John Sydenham.

Low bridge profile set up for finger style, not suitable for bowing, string height is on the high side at the moment.

Shadow SH 950 pickups.

With 3 sets of strings, Honeys, Spirocores, and Helicores.

It won't win any beauty pageants, with a rough repair to the body side, and the purling is in very poor condition.

It has a good even acoustic sound through the registers, and works well with an amp, with many compliments about the tone.

It's been played professionally for many years on jazz gigs, functions and cruise ships.

This is a bass for a student or a someone who wants an that sounds much better than it looks. It's a reliable stable instrument that's served me very well.

Most of my work is on the trombone now, and the occasional D/B is played on a nicely set-up Stagg, therefore lack of use brings about the sale.

Ashburton, South Devon.
