RockfordStone
so today i found out my rear suspension has taken a pounding, i suspect partly due to my musical equipment, so i am looking at the option to downsize my speaker cabinet. i am currently running an ampeg svt 3 pro with an ampeg 4 x 10, so i am looking at a 2 x 10 or 2 x 12. in my inferior ohmage knowledge i believe the ampeg only outputs 450watts to a 4 ohm match up, so a smaller 8 ohm cab around 300 watt should suffice. does anyone else do this and has any suggestions, it needs not be another ampeg, just a solid cab which isnt a bank breaker
Japhet
Genz Focus. You could stick with a 4x10 and be much lighter or go for an even lighter 2x12. Cheap too.
chris_b
There a 2 Aguilar GS112 cabs in the For Sale section. I used 2 of these with my SVT3 PRO and they sounded great.

[/quote] +1 Agreed - I've just bought a Schroeder 1212L which would be perfect for the job IMO. Amazing cab. It's 60 x 41 x 41cm and 19kg. 800W RMS @ 4ohms 2 X12 neo drivers and bullet tweeter. chris_b
I've seen 2 gigs this weekend and both players sounded great through their Barefaced cabs, Big Baby 2 (Mudpup) and Super Compact (Merton). Thanks guys for 2 interesting, eye opening and thought provoking, evenings.
