RandomBass Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Has anyone got a source for those small white square plastic push-button caps that fit the Trace Elliot GP7SM, GP12SMX amps etc? They are used for the passive/active switch, preshape, mute etc. I need a few to replace some lost/broken ones, but haven't had much luck finding them online. Cheers Geoff Quote
mep Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Try British Audio Services. They stock plenty of TE spares, although a quick look didn't show what you want. You could contact them. Quote

RandomBass Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 Well I got a negative response from BAS. They don't stock them and no advice about where I might source them. I can't believe it's so difficult to find a simple cap for a standard size pcb mount switch lol. Quote
Mike OConnor Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 I'd like a few also if someone knows where to get them, 1x would do me. Mike Quote
Deedee Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 I know these are rarer than hens teeth. I almost had a fit the last time I collected my SMX after a service and one of them was missing. The shop managed to find it once I’d explained to them that you can’t get them anywhere (they didn’t seem to disagree). A dud spares or repair head may be the best option. 😟 Quote
fleabag Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 (edited) Yup, rare as rocking horse lips. When i found dodgy pre-shape and graphic in/out switches on my series 5 GP11, i got my amp tech to keep the outer switch covers, just to keep it original, knowing how hard they are to find. To make it a bit worse, my switch covers are TE green, so another reason to keep them. He replaced the switches beneath the covers and it was far from easy apparently. Keeping the original green covers was the problem, but he managed it. Edited April 16, 2019 by fleabag Quote
TheGreek Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 There's a seller on eBay who seems to have pulled one apart for spares/parts - worth contacting? https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/otterpawsales/m.html?item=323763706034&hash=item4b61d218b2%3Ag%3A-7MAAOSwCCpcesty&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 Quote
