ped Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I recently acquired this from my friends in Japan. Tried it on my fretted bass and though I really like the feel it doesn't suit this particular bass but would be fantastic on a jazz type bass. Essentially does the job of a normal cover but is a bit narrower so that it doesn't impinge on your plating area. Impinge. What a superb word. It is brand new and comes with the screws (unopened, I used Blu-tac to try it first). It will fit a 4 or 5 string bass IIRC - it is 113mm screw to screw. £25 Cheers ped

Jase Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 That's a bit neat and at the same time, sexy looking too!
bassjamm Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Hello you beautiful man...that's a funky little number. Does it come with screws? Would it be secure enough if it were just screwed into a pick guard do you think? Jam
budget bassist Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 might be getting a squier VMJ soon, so i might be looking for something like this
ped Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 Hi guys, Sorry I have just seen the replies to this thread. It is a great idea - the simple ones often are the best! It does indeed come with screws which have not been used. The cover would probably be solid attached to a pickguard but the screws may be too long and need to go into the wood, unless you modify it. If you like I can supply some double sided 'numberplate tape' which I use to attach things before screwing down so you can test/find the right position before going all the way. Cheers ped
ped Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 Will look something like this - mine is 113mm screw to screw so it should fit a jazz 5 too.
