I eat my peas with honey,
I've done it all my life,
It makes my peas taste funny,
But keeps 'em on my knife.

Just about to post up mine and you've beaten me to it!

P.S. Do I spot some obsessive detail in the placing of the string balls at 90 degrees to the slots? I'm just off to do the same...!

I notice JHS are still shipping the Vintage VS6 with gold hardware...afraid I don't have a photo of my own, pre-Wilkinson one, but I'm sure the body finish used to be a shade darker than the one pictured. Closer to burgundy than to cherry, if you will. I reckon gold looks alright against a suitably dark background.

(That said, I'm glad my tobacco-burst T-bird has black hardware...)

That is indeed a very attractive looking bass on all kinds of levels , and not too "Liberace" in overall effect , despite the abundance of gold.

I think that, crucially, the fact that the body is a darker, Vintage Gold probably makes all the difference in that respect . Very, very nice looking bass all round, and I have no doubt it sounds great, too.

I can only think gold strings might improve it...?

I wouldn't really notice that too much myself, but it is an easy fix.

By the same token, that same bass with chrome hardwear would still probably look just as good, albeit in a slightly different way. Black hardwear would look wrong, though.
