JollyJeweller
As you can see from my other post, I'm looking to buy a used bass , have tried several and like the feel of the Jazz and the Jag. However, this is ony for home use, will not be gigged, so the amplified sound is less important, the build quality and feel is more important really. Bearing that in mind, will I notice much difference in build/quality between say , a Modern Player , and a Mexican , or even a good Squier, ignoring the electronics entirely. Ta. HowieBass
A Squier Vintage Modified or Active Deluxe or Classic Vibe Jazz bass should serve you very well.

[/quote] This. Both the Classic Vibe Squiers and the Modern Player Fenders are made in China, and in my experience the quality is very similar. ahpook
Another vote for a CV Jazz - very impressed with mine.
Prime_BASS
A good example of a chinese modern player, Mexican fender and Indonesian squier would all feel equally good. Differences in feel come from weight and finish after that. Go to shop and try some go for what feels best.
