Six strings, active electronics, 28 frets, five knobs, not sure if those are three double coil pickups, ebony/ebonal fretboard, zero fret, through body stringing, active/passive push/pull pot, three way adjustable bridge pieces, who knows what I have missed.

It looks a bit like someone decided that they were going to have a bass guitar with EVERYTHING on it.

Lacking midi.

And LED lights on the fretboard too. But that gives whoever buys it at least some options in terms of adding even more stuff to it.

Everything? No ...

There's no DI out, no built-in tuner, there must have been room for an AX7 somewhere if only they'd looked, and it has no flick switches at all ... got to have those flick switches.

Failing which, there's always room for some more knobs:

What's wrong with it ?

Ever actually tried one ? I have and they're great, I'm possibly gonna be buying one later in the year.

These are extremely good quality basses, at a superb price.

Check out the site http://www.rmiuk.biz/News.php

My fretless 6 has (or would have) 26 frets.

Two pickups I though most basses had 2 pickups, except for P's ?

A ramp, my Mayones has one.

It's just an extremely good instrument for the right person, the OP, obviously isn't that person.

Thanks. I'm not sure what I've written actually criticises the bass. There's just a lot on it. There have been some other posts saying that this bass isn't as high specified with stuff as I suggested in the first post, so I'd quite like to hear about other makes/models of bass that have even more stuff on them, e.g. the bass posted by HappyJack.

BTW: @ambient, originally I mistook the ramp for a third pickup, but I was corrected early on.

Not entirely taken by the body shape and the edges. Whoever specced it did forget the piezo bridge saddles, which would, of course, have given scope for the MIDI someone mentioned via a Hexpander, and, even worse, it's got a head! Oh, and there are 11 less neck bolts than on a Ritter.

What's with the Deadhead bass? More knobs than can possibly of use and then a bridge anchor that is made from dribbled solder...

It's known as "Alembic build quality" actually.

:D
