Clarky72 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Which of these three do you prefer? Ignore the fact that one is a Squier and one is a Marcus Miller, I'm just asking about the fingerboard/blocks options Quote
Ou7shined Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Black blocks ..... although the neck gap leaves a lot to be desired Quote
Clarky72 Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 Thankfully my building is better than my photoshop butchering! Quote
Lw. Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Bottom one looks good - I don't think I've seen too many maple+white block necks about so makes a nice change. Quote
KevB Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Top one for me every time, always tend to go for rosewood on a jazz and the contrast of the pearloid inlays sets it off perfectly. Quote
hamfist Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Maple board, black blocks. Classic ! I'd prefer no neck binding or white binding though, if there's a choice. Quote
UglyDog Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014

Bottom
Middle (but ideally without black binding)
Top
If the body & headstock were Lake Placid or CAR, then it'd be top all the way. Quote
Clarky72 Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 I'm edging more towards the top one myself. The middle one is too similar to the stock Fender reissue... Quote
TRBboy Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) Bottom one, but with a white pearloid scratchplate. EDIT: And another string! Edited February 27, 2014 by TRBboy Quote
Simon. Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited)
Bottom one, but with a white pearloid scratchplate.
This! IMO, with a natural finish, it has to be maple & pearl blocks all the way. Anything coloured, and it has to be rosewood and pearl blocks. Except possibly in the case of all black or all white, which can go either way. Binding essential, too. Edited February 27, 2014 by Simon. Quote
grayn Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 All 3 look cool but with that body, I'd choose the last one. Quote
Geek99 Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I think my answer is mainly because I had a CIJ 75 reissue with an unusual rosewood + white MOP board. I regret selling it Quote
CHRISDABASS Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 This is a tough one!! Hmmmm I'm thinking the middle one currently.... Quote
