artisan
All the talk of SG basses got my GAS going, like it does,so after a lunch time browse i caved in & bought a satin chocolate jobbie from Dawson's for the bargain price of £599 including vintage brown hard case. What a bloody silly bargain Can't wait for it to get here next week. A few years ago i had one of the SG Reissue basses & always regretted selling it. If anyone fancies my Fender P that will be in the fo rsale section this evening Edited February 28, 2014 by artisan
Musicman20
I really like some of the 'new' Gibson basses.
lou24d53
Apart form the £400, what is the difference between the Special and the Standard models? Edited February 28, 2014 by lou24d53
artisan
The standard is the same appart from the headstock inlays, trapezoid position markers & a gloss finnish. The electrics & everything else are the same.
Phil Adams
[quote name='artisan' timestamp='1393598769' post='2382427'] The standard is the same appart from the headstock inlays, trapezoid position markers & a gloss finnish. Mind you, if it's block inlay markers you want, look no further than a £200 Epi EB3
gsgbass
Congrats on your incoming SG Std. Bass.
theyellowcar
I was intrigued as to what made up the £400 difference. £599 seems a steal for a US made bass with a hard case!
gsgbass
The SG Specials really are a good no nonsense Gibson Bass, over the SG Std. The heavier nitro finish, the fancier inlayed fretboard, and Mother Of Pearl on the head, are the only difference for a lot more Buckeroos from SG Special's, and SG Std.'s.
