skej21 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014
Yum! Looks great.. I'm sure he can do the aged LPB too...
He can . When I asked him about getting LPB, he asked me if I had a photo as he didn't want to do LPB and it turn out I'd been after the darker (more green) like in your photo. Howard knew the official name for that colour as it came up in our discussion but it escapes me atm. Just ask and/ or show him the picture and I'm sure he'll be able to help you out. As I'm sure you know, what Howard doesn't know about bass isn't worth knowing!! Quote
Cairobill Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Wahhh, exactly what I need…thump thump thump…very nice bass. I would go Sonic/Mint myself... Quote
inthedoghouse Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Lovely! :-) I wish I hadn't sold (how many times do we say that?) my early 70s Precision! Congratulations Quote

wateroftyne Posted March 7, 2014 Author Posted March 7, 2014 The official colour is LPB - it's just aged so it looks a bit like Sherwood Green. Quote

Graham Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014
I'll see how I feel about the pups after a few gigs. I like 'em so far.... I could just tippex four dots on each. Colour-wise... this is winning:
I love green basses and that's stunning. Quote
wateroftyne Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 Had a bit of time this morning, so I made a video... I've recorded and gigged her a lot over the last couple of weeks. She growls! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEyjx9sUyYQ Quote
M@23 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Sounds mega. What strings are you using? Both sets sound really nice. Quote

wateroftyne Posted April 30, 2014 Author Posted April 30, 2014 Here's a recording I did last night using a little Lexicon interface thingy... https://soundcloud.com/wateroftyne/sets/1971-fender-precision Quote
lee4 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 IMO the flats are way better. The tone is more "rounded",and the little lick that you threw in sings out better. Quote
