jenzuwin
Hi, I've been wanting to invest in a custom single cut bass, however I can't seem to make up my mind on what company to go with. My initial thoughts was to go with Elrick as they seem to be very high quality basses that are also affordable (something like a Fodera sadly isn't). However I've also heard high praises for Sei basses, Adamovic and so on. Was wondering if someone who's had experience with buying a custom bass could maybe recommend a great, affordable company. Cheers.
TheGreek
I'm more than happy with my ACG SC Harlot - the electronics are up there with the best of them. Asymmetric neck is really easy to play and the choice of timbers is excellent. Alan is a really nice fella (met him at this weekend's LBGS) and is happy to discuss any issues you might have. There are a couple of threads available in different parts of the forum - you can start in "Affiliates" and "Build diaries". Here's a sample of his work: I'm not sure where about's in London you are but if you can get to Hatfield you're welcome to come and try.. ead
+1 for ACG. Your best bet is to get in touch with Alan, tell him what you're looking for and he will give you an idea of the cost. Top bloke to deal with and really helpful.

TheGreek
Check out the "Affiliates" section - you can see lots of examples of Alan's work - also opportunities for hours of drooling - Alan is a member here, "Skelf" - and will answer any questions you might have - there were a couple of his basses in the "for sale" section a few weeks ago. Website: www.acguitars.co.uk You won't be disappointed...
White Cloud
ACG ticks every box. Alan's work is stunning and his prices are surprisingly good. The pre-amp is also fast becoming legendary.
