joeystrange
I'm currently watching two white Fender P Basses on eBay and they seem a bit... Odd. They're both from the same seller, ending four days apart. Both have no pics, apart from the same stock photo, and both have next to no info, although one has a bit more than the other. There are no bids on either of them. One is £350 with free shipping and one is £342 plus £20 shipping. I emailed the seller a couple of days ago asking for more info but no reply as of yet. Does this seem a bit dodgy to anyone else?
Protium
Sounds dodgy to me
bonzodog
Very dodgy. I dont see why anyone would buy anything off ebay wihout pictures of the actual product. Whats their feedback like?
HowieBass
Sounds suspicious to me as well, why offer free delivery for one but not the other?
joeystrange
Whats their feedback like?
One negative feedback out of 95 saying that the description and item were different things. It's not really filling me with confidence, that's why I asked for more info and pics. karlfer
Get one off here fella, simple as that. If there isn't one available WAIT, there will be before long.
FinnDave
Borrow a bargepole, then refuse to touch the ads with it. No point in getting into a whole heap of grief, plenty of straight sellers around.

White Cloud
Once upon a time Ebay was a decent place to grab a bargain and deal with decent people in the process. I have recently been badly burned by some unscrupulous "ebayers". Contacting ebay themselves proved fruitless on each occaision, they just don't seem to care too much about some of the scams doing the rounds. I avoid Ebay like the plague now. My cash is too hard earned....
BetaFunk
eBay isn't as good as it was but i've still scored some absolute gems even recently. It's like life in gemeral. There are some good guys out there and some bad ones and just like anywhere else you just have to be careful.
Chris Sharman
To quote Robert De Niro in the film Ronin; "where there is doubt, there is no doubt" i.e. if you are not sure of it, LEG IT! the above rule has served me well so far....
joeystrange
Cheers for the advice. I'm glad you're all on the same page. I've bought on here before, there just anything right that's within my budget right now. I'm always looking though. Cheers.
the boy
It's probably not what you want it to be. Avoid.
JapanAxe
That's the same bass listed twice. Whichever goes, they then pull the other listing. With a 'description' like that you have no idea what you're getting (or not as the case may be).
Gazza 2905
+1 to everything above! From my (reasonably extensive) experience of ebay, the quality of the ad reflects the quality of the seller, - every time. It should be detailed, with plenty of photos of the actual item for sale. Image you were selling something, what sort of ad would you write? If it's not to that same standard, - don't even consider buying it. karlfer's right, they'll be something come up for sale on here soon, for sure. You just gotta be patient
