Just put a new set of my fave rave string the Fender Superbass 7250'Ms on my VMJ and  ....its like having microphonic strings...

...the string noise is incredible, they are so bright they could make the hairs stand up...like fingernails down a blackboard and as tight as a camels a**e in sand storm.

I've still got another 4 bass's here and all shod with unworn 7250's so it's not me, honestly!

...same packet as normal...any ideas?

Who is currently making Fender's strings?

D'addario, allegedly, even though Fender invested a lot of $ in a new string equipment not long ago. Made to a their recipe by D'addario, not relabled.

They changed the 7250 and other strings a while back, those older ones were really sweet, as opposed to just sweet. Older strings generally had silks, so its easy to spot the older strings.

Give 'em a good rub down with an old cotton t-shirt.
