WinterMute
Lovely bass, I got a 5 string stealth H for my birthday in Feb, always loved the look, but the sound is just first rate, I have the 2nd Gen Big Twin, the B is thunderous though that. BassTractor
this is all new and shiny (well all new and matte black!)
Congrats with your new Bongo! I love'em, but have no clue. That should've warned you, but alas it's too late now. And congrats with the setting up as well. We won't tell ya we told ya so Were these those four YouTube vids on the Elixir Strings channel?
ern500evo
Yes the videos are on Elixir's channel. The guy is John Carruthers, he makes it very easy to follow and understand. I used it live for the first time last night, it sounds great. Going to take a little bit of getting used to, the body and neck feel bigger than my Warwick. Biggest thing though is finding somewhere comfortable to rest my thumb, the H feels too far back and the S feels too far forward! I've always rested it on the P pickup on my Warwick which would sit in the gap between the 2 pups on the Bongo.
Horizontalste
You'll get used to it, I switch between a Yamaha Bb and a Stingray and both feel perfectly natural.
Nodd
I had diificulty with thumb placement too. I have used one of the Bass Buddy thumbrests put it in exactly the same place as where I rest my thumb on my P-Bass, (I use the pickup cover on my P). There is a small difference in that the bongo hangs slightly differently from the P so it might still feel odd, but the strings feel the same under my fingers. BassTractor
The Bongo 4-HHHHH solves this beautifully, methinks. Other than that, it can't be hard to semi-glue a support list alongside the pickups, I reckon - before ever having tried, mind.
