Just interested in these really.

What I know already ....

- they're heavy

- great build quality, MIA

- versatile tones.

However, I don't know what kind of tones we're talking about here.

Tell me more.

There is a video that has been posted on here previously. I seem to recall that all the tonal variations were explored and explained.

Don't think they all heavy and I have been very tempted myself. :)

I got one in a trade a while back but sold it on to Alhbass a while ago. Tonally it does a close approximation of everything and the temptation to constantly dick about with the controls was the reason I sold it.

It was built to last nd weighed in at just over 9lbs.

Ive got a t 40, it is very heavy and it does have a good range of tones , appears to be very well made, ive not been very impressed with the solidity of the low end but that's my only gripe really. Id imagine its a very good rock bass, though i dont really play rock (in a band) these days.

I bought one after hearing the 'poor man's Rickenbacker' description countless times... It isn't. It does clangy, trebly tones very well but it doesn't sound like a Rick IMHO.
Still, a superb bass, and one I regret selling, but as Old Horse Murphy already mentioned, so many knobs and switches to mess around with I could never settle.

Those are the basses that I prefer. Passive basses with a boat load of knobs and switches. More things to turn on full!!!

I have quite a few of these and there are a few folk on here who
have bought one from me.

Have a look here:

Great bass, with plenty of different tones and sounds.
You can also widen the range with a Sansamp - Cocco uses one or a BD21 DI

Got any specific questions, drop me a line - happy to help.

Cheers. :)

Yes, that was actually the reason for my recent interest.

Thanks to all for their replies BTW. I think I'm going to hold fire at this time though.

I certainly do! No finer sound exists than T-40 into sans amp bddi (the talent enhancer) into AD 200. Have a go, they tick all the boxes for me!
