rubis
I was looking for a used, reasonably priced gigging bass and found this one, paid £100 for it with a gig bag. There was a bit of a scary moment when Shitylink managed lose it in transit, but it will do me quite nicely, I think. A change of strings and a bit of fettling and it plays quite nicely. I have a Delano alnico pickup and one of Tommo Richards' Sabre pre's which I will put in, but this might prove a bit fiddly, as the control cavity isn't the most commodious I've seen, and I will need to add in the bright switch and a series/parallel switch too. However, good value for money I think, if anyone is considering them.
iconic
Hmm, nice bass, these later Aria's don't seem to get the respect they honestly deserve, the inconvenient truth is that my late model STB jazz is a far better bass than my 1983 SBR-60 ever was! Mcgiver69
I got one of those which I bought to use as backup and ended up being my main bass. I love the neck!! I installed a Status MM pickup and a Glockenklang 2 band preamp and now is a monster!!
rubis
Nice, these basses seem perfect for modding, you end up with an all round very respectable bass I could be tempted by one of their P's or even Jazz's (as I understand their necks aren't so slim) to turn into a PJ with a BareKnuckle P pickup and a Wizard 64 Jazz bridge pickup I have waiting to be used up
TheRockinRoadie
Great looking bass - iI've molded a couple of their guitars but not played many of their basses. Happy gigging! Also, Mcgiver69, what do you think of the Glockenklang 2 band? I'm thinking of putting the stacked version in my Washburn 1000 series. Cheers, Lorry
Mcgiver69
Go for it, it's dead quiet. The passive mode is uncoloured so you get the same tone as in active mode without the boost obviously. The treble is 18K but it's not harsh surprisingly. I highly recommend it.
