KevB Posted March 10, 2014 Share Posted March 10, 2014 After ten years of faithful service my sack trolley finally came a cropper the other night trying to get my bass rig up an unlit and pothole strewn side road into the venue. Short of a welding job I don't think I could trust it, having inspected it yesterday and I don't think it owes me anything. Anyone know of any good deals going for them at the moment? places like Aldi have them in periodically but not guaranteed to be in stock. I wouldn't really recommend it though. The plastic teeth that work to fold/unfold it might as well be made of chocolate. It is still working 5 months later, but I wish I had gone for the rigid one - that can carry over twice the weight and will never break. [/quote] this one for me , though I have a big, fully welded , off road, inflateable tyre type from Machine Mart. Well OTT, but I had it for moving slabs , so bass kit is easy , though my bass kit is all lightweight now so dont use it , except for slabs !! whizzzy Posted March 11, 2014 Share Posted March 11, 2014 One of the best folding sack trucks around is the Wolfcraft 5500, the old model was TS800 but looks to be essentially the same thing. The big advantage of this Wolfcraft truck is that when its opened out there is a bar which locks the two wheels in position and acts as a sort of axle between them. This stops the wheels from folding and collapsing in which is inevitably what happens on the cheaper folding trucks. The sack truck also has reasonably sized wheels which makes negotiating kerbs and door steps a bit easier. I've had one of these for over 7 years now and its still going strong even after regular giging. Ain't cheap though but as they say, buy once, cry once!
