bagsieblue Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 ...they have is the one currently in their hands? Even when A/B ing basses I always prefer the one I'm currently playing rather than the other.....until I swap! Quote
TheGreek Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 This is how I justify owning each of my basses..all of them have their own merits.. Quote
bartelby Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I did until recently. But now I tend to just go for my Steve Harris Precision. Quote

Gazza 2905 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Nope. My Sklar is head and shoulders above any other bass in my collection. But I still play the others; and enjoy them Quote
KevB Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 The bass I enjoy playing the most unfortunately isn't the one I gig with so I make a point of getting the one that I like playing most out for practice sessions. Quote
He he, I'm the other way round Practice on the Ibanez because I like to 'save the Fender for best' so to speak. Quote
skej21 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Used to think so. Since getting it in December, now I always reach for my Nate Mendel precision. I even tried to put it away under the bed and have something else out to force me away from it. That lasted about 3 minutes before I had the case open and the Mendel back out and it's been out since. Maybe it's time to try the 'only need one bass' philosophy for a while... Quote
Myke Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Nope, but that's probably because I have my TRB against a epiphone thunderbird. Quote
Roger2611 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I have my stage favourites which amongst them I go through cycles of which is my current favourite, I have a few others that desperately need to be sold if I ever get round to it Quote
mrtcat Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Nope. Everything sounds great until I get my hands on it. Quote
chrismuzz Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 For me, it's any bass with passive electronics and a low enough action! Quote
ead Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I enjoy all my basses, even more so when listening to other talented people playing them. Quote
KevB Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014
He he, I'm the other way round Practice on the Ibanez because I like to 'save the Fender for best' so to speak.
Clearly the answer is to replace the Ibanez with another Fender (no, you're not having my jazz ) and thus starts the steady slide into self induced poverty and slight madness. Quote
EliasMooseblaster Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 But...but there is no bass currently in my hands. Does this render The Best Bass an abstract concept? Or is The Best Bass, in actual fact, my computer keyboard? Quote
Diablo Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014
I enjoy all my basses, even more so when listening to other talented people playing them.
snap! I sometime try to get others to play or sound check mine so I can actually hear what it sounds like without a drummer blasting next to me. Half the time I end up "feeling" the sound through my belly from the bass body or through my legs when standing in front of the amp rather than actually hearing it. Cheers, Rich Quote
marcus bell Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 Love my Kingbass the most but I play the gb more in my band Quote
