The Gap Band/Charlie Wilson.

i stumbled across this vid yesterday. I had he pleasure of seeing these guys/girls at the NEC many years ago, and they really were incredible. the bass player was off the wall. but what was really incredible was Charlie Wilson's voice.

i don't know if anyone has seen this band live but i sh*t you not Charlies's voice is just something else. i thought Anita Baker was good live.

just reminded me of seeing/hearing him. i remember his voice was so powerful, proper gospel power.. this sort of music keeps a smile on my face.
