I've just received another video from Scott Devine. Absolutely free of charge, well put together and easily understood.

Anybody else signed up to Scott's website? What you think of this as a resource??

I've been feeling that although my playing has improved through regular gigging, it has actually stagnated a bit in recent times.
I practice most days but over the last few years it has been mostly learning sets for depping and new tunes for the covers band.
So nothing structured, just getting the songs nailed.

It has been bothering me a bit, so I started looking at lessons online. Checked out Scott's site, liked what I saw and signed up last week. Thoroughly enjoying trying out some different techniques and styles.

I've subscribed to his pro memembship and it is well worth the money. The amount of material is phenomenal. Also, the pro membership enables you download the vids, the audio and transcriptions workbooks. There are two bonus courses thrown in as well. He also does regular bass hangs and the forum there is a pretty nice place to be. There lots of positive help from people. Scott and his awesome team frequently interact with you too. There is plenty going on and I only wish I had more time to use and practice the material. Either way it is a great and I thoroughly recommend.

Great stuff, useful and well explained. His enthusiasm is catching as well.

I haven't signed up to his site, but I greatly appreciate his youtube videos. Some of it is just so simple, but it works. I found that with whole scales that I tend to fall into the same old same old rhythmical patterns over and over again. But, when I tried his 'simple patterns' lesson, it really helps to restrict the notes played, as you've got to do something with the rhythm, as you've only got two notes through some parts of that lesson. His description of the dangers of slap is also very interesting, and IMHO accurate.

His lesson on 'The most important lesson you'll ever learn' is about learning itself, and it shows that he is someone who really understands what it is

Thank you for sharing this! I am new to bass and have signed up for lessons but they won't start until next week and I'm chomping at the bit to get started. I'm gonna take a peek through the stuff on his site and see if I can get a few pre-lessons in :D
