Chris Sharman
That looks fantastic. Now, how do I broach this one with the 'Domestic Finance Committee'.....?
rk7
Came back for another look. Oh man, that flame is awesome. RK
BassBus
It is particularly good and three other basses will get faces from the same piece. Lucky guys who get them.
funkypenguin
WOW! that top really is something else! I'm taken back to a conversation i had with martin at the NE bash....have to start saving soon....
BassBus
It really is quite special. I don't think the photos do it justice as often happens. When Chris wiped spirits over it it had such a deep red colour with such a strong figuring. The excitement is building. HowieBass
I feel sad for the bit of wood that gets covered by the bridge
BassBus
You're right Howie. It's unfortunate that has to happen but it needs a bridge The Bass Collection restore I had done last year had a lovely V of sap wood just where the pickups went. Such is life. And on that bombshell the final invoice is in. Not long now.
rk7
Not long now - woop! When is the big day? Are you coming down/over to collect it? RK

RK [/quote] Good idea RK. Only problem is there won't be much time to save at the rate they have produced this one. The bass is being shipped to me. Probably just as well as I might have to show off my dodgy intonation if I picked it up
rk7
Yeah, this one has taken around three weeks so far I think? Not much saving-up time there then. This is one lovely bass though, you will love it when it arrives. RK

funkypenguin
May end up doing an extra cruise contract at this rate to fund it having said that i got my warwick back from Jack Ellis' shop today and after his advanced setup it plays better than ever...argh!! martthebass
I usually dislike natural finish but that is truly superb!
BassBus
The wood under the finish probably has something to do with that. It's gawjuss!

BassBus
It is rather nice. I suspect it will look even better in the flesh. Camera phone, white background and strip lighting won't really do a picture any justice. No offence to Martin's photography skills. All the guys involved have done a first class job as usual and turn around has been so quick for a custom build.
Grangur
I generally prefer the pristine, clear FB. This is one of the very few examples I've seen where the lined FB looks great. Edited April 27, 2014 by Grangur
