EUB slapping advice

Been playing EUB (Kania) for a year or so now. Don't have a problem playing pizz or getting slap notes. My problem is reaching between long notes when for example doing the boom boom boom boom fill ins between long notes (eg playing in A upfret). The strings seem to stick to fingers and palm to the back of the neck. Is it because it is an EUB you lose some control when slapping.....lack of stabilising weight that the real thing has?
Of course I am still learning and this may resolve with practice but I did notice that some people take the laquer off the neck and oil it. I use Silver Slaps...tried Fast Fret but they still seem sticky...is this just nooby technique or can I oil the strings or what.
