Dazed
I recently ordered 2 sets of these in a light gauge. One 4 and another for a 5. I've just strung my warwick with a set and the E sounds the same as the old set I've removed ie dead no Zing at all. Now I've opened the 5er set to try the E and that's dead as well. To prove all this I swapped the E and A over just to make sure there was nothing weird going on with the bass. Sure enough it's always the E. Anyone else noticed this with these strings? Bad batch? Opinions please
ambient
I had some flats from them a couple of years ago, they were pretty rubbish, just as you described. I just bought some more a few weeks ago and they're fine, quite nice and bright and flexible. Phone them and complain.
ahpook
Deffo let them know. I use Hotwires all the time and have had one set with a dodgy E-string. I emailed them and a replacement came straight out. Otherwise, they're great strings - I just ordered a box Edited March 23, 2014 by ahpook
Dazed
Coolio thanks guys I've had the bridge apart looking for a non existant problem! I'd better check the other set I got from them too. Likewise apart from the duff E they sound good. I wasn't expecting an answer so swiftly Edited March 23, 2014 by Dazed
TheGreek
As I've said on many occasions Rob and Dawn and really great people - whenever I've had a problem they've put it right without any hesitation. Contact them to let them know what the problem is and I'm pretty sure they'll do their utmost to put it right.

Dazed
Update: Spoke to Dawn several times and 2 x replacement E strings sent out Sadly the replacements are just the same. I've restrung a 5 string at the weekend with the other set of premium rounds and the D and E are dead in this set they just sound like strings from totally different sets...!? Very disappointed. Ill be contacting them again tomorrow.
