stevetdunn Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Hi folks, I use a Diago PowerStation to power my effects pedals. I'm thinking of refining pedals and just wondered if anyone knew where to get rubber caps for unused male barrels? I know a bit of insulation tape will do the trick, just wanted something a bit "tidier". Saw these from the States, but haven't sourced anything for the UK. Any ideas? Quote
Thunderbird Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 I have also been looking for these they seem really hard to get Quote
SubsonicSimpleton Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 What about just drilling some 5.5mm holes into a bit of wood/plastic/rubber then plugging the unused connectors into it - saves cleaning the sticky adhesive that insulating tape leaves behind at a later date, and much faster/cheaper than mail ordering those caps from the states. Bassnut62 Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Powerall do these.....call Hot Rox in Nottingham Quote
JapanAxe Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Wickes sell pre-cut lengths of electrical cable that have soft plastic caps over the ends to stop people stabbing themselves on them and then calling AmbulanceChasers4U. Sometimes these might fall on the floor... 1 Quote
stevetdunn Posted March 29, 2014 Author Posted March 29, 2014 Thanks BassNut62 - will give them a call. And thanks Subsonic Simpleton - an eminently sensible suggestion :-) Quote

mikegatward Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Surely the best solution is to buy another pedal (or 2) Quote
ahpook Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 My solution is to cut an inch or so off some twin and earth mains cable, remove the conductors and use the outer sleeve as a 'boot' to slip over the unused connector. Quote

BigRedX Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Why not just order a daisy chain with the correct number of connectors from OBBM? Quote
Roland Rock Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014
Why not just order a daisy chain with the correct number of connectors from OBBM?
As soon as you do that, you get GAS for the latest Chakra FudMincer (or whatever) and you're suddenly a connector short. Quote

barneyg42 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Old thread, bumping in self interest! Got this problem now with unused ends, anyone found a uk based solution? Only seem to find stateside shops selling Godlyke caps! Quote
obbm Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I've just checked and the outer that I cut from Sommer LLX cable and throw away slips nicely over a 2.1mm plug. If you are passing anytime Colin you can have a few. Quote

linear Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I use heatshrink tubing for this. Cut off a 1 cm length, place on jack so it's halfway on, shrink with heat source, Couple of quid for a lifetime supply, and it comes in bright colours. Quote
