Angel
I'm a big fan of this bass sound, and I'd love to know how to get the real 'active punch' of this recording. I know it's not just from the bass as I own this status now, and it doesn't sound as cool as that by itself (hampered by my playing, but that's a different issue). There must be some kind of extra processing going on. Any ideas? wateroftyne
You can get a similar effect by hitting bed springs with drumsticks.
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE
That was good. My guess, is that he is using something basic like the zoom b2 1.u. Or an amp simulator.

BassBus
Sounds like the mids have been scooped and treble boosted. Why not PM James (durandasi), he might be able to shed some light on it.
Prime_BASS
Yes, both pickups on full. Bass and treble boosted, mids scooped. I doubt that there is much between the bass and the amp. The EBS is a pretty flat response, bug he might have some compression on there, which by the signal jump on the string strums is a bit doubtful. Just a good clean bass sound, set up low, mids scooped.
gjones
Compressor/limiter a bit of chorus, and brand new light gauge Rotosounds, would be my guess.
Gunsfreddy2003
It's all coming from the EBS amp and speaker - nothing else gets a sound like that!

[/quote] +1 with the EBS tone, especially with the NeoLine cabs. Quite "drumsticks on bedsprings" if you play with the character switch and scoop the mids. lol
thisnameistaken
Set your bass up as low as it will go. Now set it a bit lower. Ok now convince yourself you can live with the rattle noise. Done.
