Skol303
The Basschat Mixing Challenge is back… and this time we’re taking a psychobilly trip into the world of Dick Venom & The Terrortones! http://dickvenom.com/ The track is entitled ‘Stench Trench’ and we have a great set of mix stems to work with, courtesy of Basschat member BRX (who incidentally plays bass for the ‘Terrortones, in case you didn’t know already). DOWNLOAD THE MIX STEMS HERE As always, use whatever means at your disposal to make the track sound as good as you can. Share your methods (and madness!) with everyone here, so we get to learn from each other. Have fun with it. And we’ll reconvene in a month’s time for the traditional ‘blind vote’ to judge the winner. As always, don’t post your finished tracks in this thread! Instead, message me with a link to download them (e.g. as a private track on SoundCloud) or I can happily give you my email address for submitting tracks using a website such as WeTransfer. Deadline for entries is Sunday May 4th at midnight. …and yes, I have picked that date in order to say "May the fourth be with you" Now get to it! Dad3353
Great news..! All downloaded (just under 300 Mb in all...), so I'll give it a whirl 'raw', first, with some trepidation. Yes, I've seen a couple of 'live' videos, so I'm a little prepared, but with such a title (No, it's no use. I've got my fingers in my ears. La, la, la; la, la, la... I don't want to know...) I've some misgivings already. Muchos thankos to Maitre BRX and his comrades (assuming they're in on the deed..! ) for the opportunity to gild their lily. Euphamism..? Me..? Don't know what you mean..! OK, I'll get busy. Minion..! Warm up the Reaper..! (La, la, la; la, la, la...) (La, la, la; la, la, la...) (La, la, la; la, la, la...) (La, la, la; la, la, la...) Your problem is elsewhere, it would seem.

I have the same, then. BRX will confirm, but I think that's how it was recorded. It certainly plays back OK. If any further tracks do show up, I'll have to find a way of nudging them into my pre-mix, already..!
BigRedX
That's all the drum tracks that were recorded. It's a combination of not enough decent mics and not enough simultaneous channels available on the audio interface. So the hihats mic is also the other side overhead and both toms (rack and floor) were recorded onto a single track.

Skol303
There should be 13 tracks in total. No dedicated hi hat stem, as BRX explains above. Tricksy!
Noisyjon
Those tracks are right up my street to have a crack at, so I did!
