flunkie Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Just wanted to share my outrageous levels of excitement at having a new bass! After years of not being able to play due to a bad left-arm injury, I've been back playing for two years now. Just passed an audition to join a popular local covers band and decided that - because of the volume of gigs they play (over 60 per year!) - I'd need a lighter bass than my Ibanez (to avoid aggravating my arm injury again!). So, after much research, I've bought an Elrick Expat Evo 4, at 7lb 5oz. It sounds AWESOME, if the action was any lower, the strings would be inside the fretboard, and it's light! Really light! Did I mention, it sounds awesome! ;-) Quote
jgmh315 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Very nice looking bass, liked the look of these for a long time. Congratulations. Quote
gary mac Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Congrats on your purchase, returning to playing and passing the audition. Quote
Happy Jack Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Do remember to replace the Trace-Elliott 4x10 and the 50lb valve amp while you're at it ... Quote
HowieBass Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Nice natural swamp ash body there. Happy new bass day! Quote
White Cloud Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Congrats! I absolutely love the look of Elrick basses...its a beauty! Quote
flunkie Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Thanks everyone :-) Really excited about the bass and the band. Am just waiting for a Markbass LMIII to arrive as a spare (or possibly main) amp. New toys!! ;-) Quote
Chiliwailer Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 That's great, enjoy the gigs! I'm a convert to light basses with decent wood too, I recently got 7.5lb Fender with a swamp ash body, no going back now! Quote
