Try Bass Gallery in Camden - they're very helpful and good - price is OK as long as you don't need fret stone (which doubles cost to c£80)

You can try Jon Free at Black Guitars - http://www.blackguitars.com/

Based in Stoke Newington and very reasonably priced. Tell him Roger sent you! :)

If it just needs new strings & the standard neck, bridge & pickup adjustments you could do the setup yourself and spend the money on beer. There's loads of easy to follow guides around.
eg:

I owned my USA Precision for 20 years before I had enough courage to turn the truss rod, but I find it usually needs a few tweaks every year when the seasons change. My jazz often needs a bit of a tweak right before a gig to keep playing consistently.

the bass cellar in denmark street did mine in a couple of hours, if you go early enough in the day and they're not too busy they're pretty fast, so long as you don't need major repair.

I've been told that Phil gets his basses set up at the Gallery! I think I might have misinterpreted something he said as serious when he was really being a little ironic. :)
