bassadder
Hi Guys Using Velvet Animas and sound great but the G string is a bit hard to get a consistent tone (arco wise) out of without the odd squeak, my bass will only accept low tension strings, any recommendations. Cheers Laurence Edited April 3, 2014 by bassadder
Owen
I like the Innovation braided core ones.

Beer of the Bass
Guts
How do you find the guts with a bow? I tried a plain gut G and D for about a week, and just couldn't get on with the arco response. They bow easily enough, but that raspy, reedy sound is a bit of an acquired taste outside of a baroque ensemble! Although I guess wound guts will be different. Rabbie
I am the worst exponent of arco in the world. So don't take my word for it, but guts are bowable. In fact before steels that's kinda all they had. I know what you mean about the typical sound, doesn't bother me but again, I hardly ever bow. marvin spangles
Sonores Drago Basso Easy to bow and low tension . The downside is the price. Very pricy Spiro Weichs are pretty low too.
Jezyorkshire
Spiro weichs are as far as i know quite a bit more, tension wise than Animas
