SOLD: ZOOT CHASER BASS from Iceni Custom Shop

Zoot Chaser Bass - handmade by Mike Walsh at Iceni Custom Shop, the Essex-based bespoke bass manufacturers.

These basses won the BASS of the YEAR AWARD - in Guitarist Magazine in 2002 and are one of the Industries best kept secrets.

"Made in Essex,24 frets, 4 strings. John East - Two band active EQ with low pass switch, volume and pick-up blend. Two pick-ups - Seymour Duncan Basslines SJB-2N Jazz at neck and Seymour Duncan Basslines SMB-4D Musicman at bridge.Body is made of one piece swamp ash with gloss black finish. Neck is bolt on and made of seven pieces of bubinga and maple, with a rosewood fingerboard. Body style is modern yet traditional if you know what I mean - nothing too alien looking and slightly familiar. Headstock is small and well recessed with two tuners either side and a string tree for correct tension. Gotoh tuners and an Iceni Sustain bridge. Neck is 34" scale a little broader than a Jazz bass, but much thinner - sort of between a Rickenbacker and a Jazz Bass and fast, with excellent fretwork (it should be it being handmade)."

An excellent high quality bass with great action, tone and playablility. Some buckle rash on the back and a few knocks and marks but nothing major.

Comes with a new gig bag.

Collection or delivery (£30) available.

Hi Jimitee
Have you got a pic of the fret markers?

Oh, it's probably worth popping on to the Introductions forum and introducing yourself if you're selling with your first post. Seriously improves the chances of selling :-)

Thanks Sean, that's great advice - i'll do the introduction thing tonight. I'll upload a photo of the fret markers in a few minutes.
You mean there are other sections of the forum apart from the classifieds?

Not got round to verifying yet; I've only been on here for seven years but I've met a few people who said that there were other forums and they were decent chaps so I guess the truth is out there...

Nice one TheGreek - is that the original finish?
Yes...when I sent Mike photos he was surprised to see it - he'd built it as a prototype with a graphite neck and been harassed by the original owner into selling it which he did reluctantly...he said he had fond memories of it..
