Silvia Bluejay
Incidentally, Blablas, your projects are a permanent source of GAS! Don't ever stop, please

Silvia Bluejay
Since I ended up posting some pics of my Bass Collection in the non-lefty section of this subforum, I may as well repost them here too
Che
bluejay what are those D'addario strings you got there? And what genre do you play with them? Nice bass, can you show us the back of it also please Edited November 12, 2015 by Che
Silvia Bluejay
They are D’Addario Nylon Tapewound ETB92 Medium Gauge, and I like them a lot, although I still prefer Chromes. I just thought the Tapewounds would look really good with the black hardware
Silvia Bluejay
Forgot to answer your question about playing style - usually fingerstyle, occasionally picked, NO slapping, EVER.
Che
That is some very elegant wood pattern right there I must try those tape-wounds once just to see whats so special about them Thanks for the pics!
Che
Forgot to answer your question about playing style - usually fingerstyle, occasionally picked, NO slapping, EVER.
I posted a reply above at about the same time as you did! Ok, I see. Whats wrong with slapping I ask since you wrote it with capital letters "EVER" I see a trend around bass forums being against slapping for some reason. If a certain style serves the tune then I see no reason to not use for example slapping or pulling. All the styles for me look like tools to be used for music making. I don't think 'slap-dislikers' realize that by expressing against slapping (I read some on your blog too about the dislike) they will scare away the beginners to even try it because of the judgement present. My apologies for going all 'wise-guy' here This is not meant to be personal at all
Silvia Bluejay
This photos/GAS/showoff thread isn't the right place for a discussion about slapping. But if the last couple of posts do anything to discourage beginners from slapping and instead inspire them to learn how to play bass properly, then the thread will have been doubly useful. sblueplanet
Love the minimal headstock size on these basses.
Silvia Bluejay
As well as having a tiny, neckdive-busting headstock, the Bass Collection is a very, very lightweight instrument. Much lighter than my Corvette 4, which is near-identical in size.

blablas
Chinabacker R4005. It needed a new truss rod cover and some tweaking & tinkering but is real nice looking and playing bass now. blablas
New addition to the herd. Sire Marcus Miller V7 Alder-5 tobacco sunburst. You get a lot of bass for a decent price, very well built with an extremely versatile preamp onboard. blablas
It's way to quiet here on the left side, the last post dates back to the end May! Forces me to post the last few additions to the blablas bass family.

JohnR
Here's my Wal packed up ready to ship back for a refinish and service after 28 years of hard playing. It was originally all black and I had it stripped in the 90s. I can't wait to have it back to its former glory. blablas

Done some work on this one. Replaced that big piece of white plastic crap with something more modest to show off the beautiful finish and woodgrain. Also acquired a few new ones since the StingRay 5.. Chinese unbranded Ukulele bass. Sire Marcus Miller V7 Vintage Ash-5. Spector Legend 5 Classic. I think I'm done buying basses for a longer period of time now, I'm without bass-gas at the moment! All the basses I lusted after for a long while are in my possession, the Spector was the last one I really wanted. High time to finish my DIY short-scale 6 string build.
