Pending a new family photo, here are the latest additions. A 2022 Fender Player Plus (white) and a 2021 Fender Player (black). The black one has an aftermarket pickguard and the hi mass bridge.

Very nice pair of basses. I've noticed a few lefty player plus models showing up for sale now and in several different finishes. The light finish looks more cream ( i think it call Pearl) than the polar white of the standard bass. Suits the torte pickguard better imho.The Player maple necks are really nicely finished on these basses and the satin back is smooth and fast. The slim profile is also easy on the hand.

Lovely basses. Can you tell me where you got the replacement pickguard from?

Black on black with maple is such a classic combo! I love both, but to me the black one stands out. Enjoy!

Sorry John I don't know - it came with the bass. It's not the best fit though.

I've previously had pickguards made using the original as a template by Jack's Instruments in Manchester. Did a really good job. Not sure if he still does it though.

That's a really striking sparkly finish - lovely! And the neck looks great. It's definitely one of the best things about Sire basses (along with the price!)

 

I've had 3 Sires. A first gen V7 (really nice except for the tuner that fell to bits), a D5 that has the best feeling neck I've ever had and a U5 which had to go back because the fret edges were so poor.

I still have the D5 - it's a lovely thing to play.

I've had a few including a first gen and the tuners aren't the best but a lot better on the 2nd gen 

This one is really light for a five string

I was going to wait and see if they are making the v8s in Lefty as they look

Good

But the finish on this one got me in the end 🤣

Lovely!!! Hankered after that colour for ages.... Ended up with my V9 though which may well be gigged tomorrow.

I think so. When it was the top of the range it had the flame top and ebony board but when the V7 second generation got ebony boards too I think nobody bothered with them. The maple top makes it look very 90's to me at least. With all the new models out I don't think they've bothered with it anymore and probably also why they were such a good price for the last year.

Spent an hour fitting a set of Hipshots to my Player Precision and put some Roto flats on that I had lying about. Also got the black Aerodyne out for a comparison photo.

Yeah I have as well then this one came up at a good price and I couldn't resist as I love the white

It's really nice fit and finish is top notch

Set-up was good just lowered the action to my taste and it plays great

Really glad I bought one 👌👌
