jimitee Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Hi All, Semi professional bass player ( I used to be in a signed Indie band called Indigo in the 90's) looking to chat to any Jaydee owners out there. I'm currently selling a few of my basses (Iceni Zoot Chaser and Overwater Progress) to fund a Jaydee Supernatural. Jimitee Quote
GeeCee Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 You need to go to the Jaydee group on Facebook. Quote
TheGreek Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 (edited) ..or you could look at the porn thread Edited April 25, 2014 by TheGreek Quote
BassBod Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Nice basses - but plenty of stories of wonky truss rods and fragile pickup selectors - get to the porn section... Quote
GeeCee Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 (edited) I'm not on FB, but it's an open group so you can see the pictures. There's no comparison with the porn section. Most of the guys who would chat about JDs here have migrated to FB. Edited April 5, 2014 by GeeCee Quote
GeeCee Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Yes and no. There was a period where there were definitely some dodgy instruments built, but the same guys tend to chip about their bad experience across multiple forums whenever the topic comes up and I think that tends to overstate the issues. Just a question of educating yourself about what to look out for and spending your money wisely. Quote
jimitee Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Thanks guys all comments appreciated. I'll make sure i'm careful in any purchase - I know there was a period in the late 80's when Jaydee used a 3/4 length truss rod system. Which is attributed with much of the neck issues. Quote
