rk7 Posted April 9, 2014 Author Share Posted April 9, 2014 Hiya Si, thank you for your kind comments. The cable tubes are for both patch leads and power cables. The power cables are the right-angle 9v jobbies, so are pretty small. The patch cables are Lava solderless, and they are very small, as is the co-ax that goes into them. The 9v and the patch leads will both pass through the cableways, but the visible wiring will be kept to a minimum. That's the theory anyway! ha ha. I'll make up a sample and take a pic of the arrangement later on. At the moment I'm having a nightmare sourcing the tiny black woodscrews to fix the sockets and switch to the side of the board. One of the benefits of being a retired gent is that I can spend time during the day doing bass-related stuff! rk7 Posted April 10, 2014 Author Share Posted April 10, 2014 Slight change of plan: I had intended to spray the board with nitro, but on the advice of two of my luthier pals, I have applied Finishing Oil. This was a breeze, compared to the nitro option,, because I am officially the worlds worst sprayer. Brushed on the Finishing Oil, left it to soak in, buffed it off and applied a second coat. This meant that the final Jack Socket couldn't be fitted. And I changed the Current Doubler to a right-angle plug in the back of the Flashback x4.
