megallica Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Haven't really had a chance to photograph any of my recent purchases. So my RB924 has now been joined by an RB760, RB950 (thanks Nic) and RB850. Quote
Number6 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I have a blue burst with the gold hardware.....great old Jap made bass Quote
Dingus Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I remember when these were a current model, and that must be thirty years ago now! I remember there was an Ibanez advert in the American guitar magazines with Mark Egan playing the sunburst one. To get a new bass made nowadays built to the same quality as these vintage Ibanez examples you would have to spend a lot of money. Lovely collection, and I like your taste in basses. Quote
White Cloud Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I absolutely love these basses...gorgeous! Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Gorgeous collection. The red one on the left looks like it's starting to morph into a Soundgear. Quote
EMG456 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Beautiful basses. Does the blue one have gold hardware or is that just wishful thinking on my part? (Looking on my phone so can't zoom in!) Quote
Yeah it was a gold finish but it's worn down to a coppery silver colour now. Would have looked like this 30 years ago Quote
6feet7 Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Just got myself both an active and a passive RB850, both black. Lovely basses Quote

Lovely basses
There was a black 850 on ebay last week, did you win that auction? Curious to find out if there is much difference tonally between the active and passive 850's? My 850 is being refinished at the moment, the sparkly red paint wasn't really doing it for me. Saying that, if I'd known how hard it was to remove the paint I think I would have learned to live with it. Quote
6feet7 Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Theres a couple in America at the moment going for about £250 - both cream and theres a couple of other RB Roadstar basses going there as well. I was looking at them until the UK one came up. There was one in North Yorkshire on ebay a couple of weeks ago too. Pickup only so think it only went for less than £50.00. Looked in good condition too. Quote
clauster Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Great collection Megallica, really glad my bass went to someone who really wanted it. Quote
Philip_ Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 i'm determined to own a roadstar or a blazer from the 80's. they're so scarce at times and then 5 come along at once. how much should i be thinking if i'm after one in reasonable condition and i'm not too picky about the model or series? Quote

Number6 Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I'm ashamed to say that my Roadstar is in my loft......somewhere. A lovely blue burst with cream coloured bindings. I must dig it out.....but i'm very lazy :-/ Quote

bjelkeman Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Very nice megallica! It outperforms my small Roadstar collection. I feel I need a sun or blue burst. Quote
bartelby Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 The RB950, just gorgeous! I've always wanted one just like that! Quote
tubbybloke68 Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 My first 'proper' bass was a roadster.brilliant basses for the money definitely! Great to see a line up of 'em :-) Quote
