Rounds Vs Flats (not the usual question)!

I'm not one for doing my own set-ups!

I'm happy to get my gear done by a very capable local professional who I fend to be very good and reasonably priced so each time I get a new bass or change string gauges, I factor in the cost of a setup into that. I don't mind as it keeps the yearly tax bill down.

However, I've been wondering if I can change between flats and rounds of the same gauges without needing any adjustment.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Steve

For what it's worth I had 45 - 105 rounds on a bass that were swapped for fender 9050 flats of same guage and no adjustment of truss rod or saddles were needed for me, just intonation. Everything felt fine

'Same gauge' means nothing if the strings are of a different make with a different construction.
