Cioks Adam Link - Power supply for Pedaltrain Nano and Mini

Recommended Posts

Oh my God, FINALLY!

The people at Cioks have heard my/our prayers for a pedal board power supply that will fit underneath the Pedaltrains Nano and Mini without the need to open up a workshop in order to make it fit! Look at that, I think it's a really neat thing.

Features:

Super flat design & easy mounting

4 isolated outputs

Short circuit protection of all outlets

LED monitoring of each outlet

120 or 230V mains voltage operation

Detachable mains power cord

6 DC cables included

DC split cable included
Specifications:

Outlet 1-2: 9 or 12V DC / 100mA each
Outlet 3-4: 9V DC / 250mA each
Size: 115x88x31mm (excl. detachable rubber feet)
Weight: 0,8kg

I have no experience with Cioks products whatsoever so I'm kinda curious to hear what you people say about them? Will they nicely feed my EBS pedals (which happen to be very picky when it comes to their food supply...)?

I haven't used them but I have had a good look at their range at MusikMesse and spoke to the guys there and they seems very well made and robust.

Pricey at around £90 for the Adam but looks like a very good little unit!

Yes it doesn't come cheap but considering how much money I've wasted on 9V blocks and cheaper supplies already, it might put an end to this quest! You were at the Messe? I wish I could have been there, it must be amazing. Yes, it does look sturdy and well made indeed but that doesn't tell us about it's guts, right?

It is a shame that the 12V outputs only have 100mA of juice, it would have been great to power up a Nova Modulator...

Luckily I don't need 12 volts. I had a Markbass Compressore but 600mA at 12V is just impracticable on a pedal board. I also LOVE the tone of my EBS MultiComp so I wont go anywhere else from here.

I've powered them at 9 volts from my diago power station and a nova delay

Not sure if the Gigrig does...isn't it huge?

The Generator is similar in size to a laptop power unit. One of the things I like about it, and that the Cioks has also got going for it, is that the mains cable detaches. It's a standard IEC 'kettle' lead on the Generator. I hate having to coil up trailing cables that are attached to stuff!
