HowieBass Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 From a BBC news report "The bass crashed into you like a steam train. I had a pain in my chest." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-27042893 Well, I didn't know that UB40 liked it that loud?! Heaviest bass I ever heard was in Manchester once from a street sound system! Quote
spongebob Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 My friend saw them last week - he loves them - and said they were brilliant! Quote
Weststarx Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 About bloody time someone woke up the folks in Cambridge - its the least rock and roll city in the world! Quote

TheGreek Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 They played St Albans on the Friday - a friend of mine was in jail with Ali Cambell years ago and even though Ali has left UB40 and has gone "solo", because my mate knows the whole band we normally get in backstage on the guest list. However because there was an argument with the new Tour Manager none of us went. Ali and Astro are playing Hatfield Park later this year so chances are we'll be getting backstage passes to that instead. Didn't the woman who complained realise that the gig was going to be loud?? Must have been a while since she last went to a gig.. Quote
geofio Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 When i was a Bouncer at the Glasgow Apollo in the early 80's the bass from ub40 was the same he played a steinberger at that gig. far too much bass and i like bass !!! Quote
