Lw.
The guys in Wunjo's are great to deal with, they're just round the corner from my office so have to deal with my face pressed against the window quite often. Never noticed too many amps in there though, must have been distracted by other things. Need to go to GG in Epsom soon - not been yet & it looks like it could be a good day out! throwoff
Another vote for Wunjo, there is a reason they have gone from one shop to three in a short space of years, quality service.
Number6
Another vote for Wunjo, there is a reason they have gone from one shop to three in a short space of years, quality service.
I was in there yesterday.....it was very busy in all the shops but they still had time to speak to me and get the lead i wanted. Oh and it was two quid cheaper than anywhere for the same lead. They're pretty good imho
CamdenRob
They are very good in Wunjos... the atmosphere doesn't make it seem like your putting them out by being there, unlike most other bass shops. I'm not overly enamoured with their range of gear, but I guess being a high street shop they have to concentrate on big name / high turnover stuff and I can't blame them for that. Alec
Another interesting way the internet has changed expectations is the availability and choice it provides, that few/any shops can match. Years back, a wander round Denmark Street would feel like a real treat, being able to see so much music gear in one place. A couple of years ago, I was down there, and it all felt deeply disappointing, with what seemed like such a limited range - though I think it was really more that they didn't have all the esoteric stuff that I enjoy browsing, that would almost always be special order. Yet, on the interweb, you can browse any amount of bass porn instantly... Some nostalgia in this thread, mind. GuitarGuitar is presumably the latest evolution of Bootleg music, which was my original childhood haunt back around 1980. I remember the early months when they were just in an upstairs room, before moving downstairs and then expanding in South St. And then Wunjo, is that what used to be the Bass Cellar in Denmark St? Bought my Status Empathy through them back around 1992 - haven't found the need to buy another bass since! And, am I right in thinking that the Bass Centre in Wapping is no more? I buy bass gear rarely. My recent amp purchases have been through Bass Direct, all transacted happily over the phone.
