cclowend Posted April 19, 2014 Share Posted April 19, 2014 Hi, I am running a GK1001rb through a hartke 4.5xl. I was playing it low level today and noticed one of the drivers is making a slight distorting noise as the bass not fades out. A really quiet buzzing. At high levels its not noticeable. Phil Starr Posted April 19, 2014 Share Posted April 19, 2014 First check nothing inside the cab is touching the cones, sometimes wires etc come loose and rattle against the cone. then check the speaker over carefully and look for something coming unglued, either the dust cap in the middle or the corrugated surround, also possible tears. repairs can be done with Copydex for sticking and Copydex and tissue for tear patching. cclowend Posted April 20, 2014 Author Share Posted April 20, 2014 Just had it all apart. Nothing touching and speaker isn't rubbing. Nothing is loose either. I am really annoyed as I have a gig Friday and it sounds awful. I will have to run with it before I contact the supplier for a warranty repair.
