Thankfully, they don't seem to have any basses.

There's one in the picture.

So there is - I was obviously too traumatised by the others to notice!

Perhaps budding Seasick Steve's would buy something like those, although I don't think he bothers with six strings much.

Gives a whole new meaning to "oil finished body". :)

I'm sure they'll find a ready market with the irritating hipster crowd - if ukeleles can become popular then it proves that some people really will buy any old sh*t.

This is nothing new, I saw lots of these in South Africa a decade ago. I've also seen them for sale in UK guitar shops too.

I can imaging hoards of redneck banjo-ists clambering to own a Sunoco gee-tar to play on the porch at night. Wuite how anyone would need hundreds of thousands of dollars to set up such a company is beyond me, there is not exactly a high financial outlay to make one of those, let alone 20 show samples.

I guess we put these in the "interesting but ultimately pointless" category.

I heard / saw these back in 2007 on holiday in Cape Town. The buskers were amazing and sounded great. I doubt they'll rival the strat but I reckon there could be a market for these.

More of a case of "no we shouldn't!!"

The company may be pointless. The guitars are making music just like any other guitar so not pointless at all.

Does it need 40secs of tuning up before every song? :D

Funnily that's exactly what I thought. Then I started to be concerned that I might be turning into a right miserable, bitter & judgemental old sod.

Then I realised that sometimes, that's not necessarily a bad thing. :D
