SaxyBassist
This is a really daft question but if I buy an amp from abroad (Germany) will it be the same safety wise as if I had bought one from UK?
LukeFRC
Thanks to the European Union, Yes, Yes it would. Just one more reason to avoid UKIP
SaxyBassist
Thanks Luke, I was reading the instruction manual (the English section! - it's an Ibanez amp) and it says "use this device only in the country where you purchased it" also it came with a 2 pin plug I phoned them and they said it was fine to use one that I had here with a UK 3 pin plug but I got a bit paranoid after reading that! Yes I agree on the UKIP thing!

Yes I agree on the UKIP thing!
The power is effectively the same in Europe as it is here. So all you will need to do is to use a UK kettle lead with the 3 pin plug on the end instead of the 2 pin Euro one. BTW, if we pull out of the EU there's no reason why we can't still keep our trade agreements, and I think they would stay, as it would benefit both "sides". SaxyBassist
Thank you Hamfist, luckily I had a spare one here from an another amp with 3 pins
heminder
The Germans can be relied on for super fast delivery. I've bought amps and instruments from there and had them shipped to me faster than a UK shop can send me a small pack of strings, and with no suspicious holes in the parcel.
It certainly was excellent service - I ordered it Tuesday and watched it on the tracking - it arrived today! I ordered something from a UK online store for the Sax last Thursday and it's only just been dispatched today!
hamfist
Yes, I've always had excellent service from German Retailers, mainly Thomann, but also rock-gear and others. Their packing and speed delivery has been, without exception, superb. Edited April 26, 2014 by hamfist
