kodiakblair
I'd saw these Retrovibe basses on Ebay last week and kept an eye on them. http://www.probass.co.uk/Home.html Picked up The Zygote in Trans Red and the Evo in White. Out the boxes both were very well built and finished. The necks had a good Fret job and were smooth. The action on the Evo was perfect, I'm used to playing thinner necks but had no problem getting used to the thicker neck on the Evo, the Zygote being thinner of the two. No chance these necks are moving. Got about an Hour playing them tonight, 1st impression Damn those pickups are loud ! The pair of them were strung with D'addario roundwounds, very crunchy sound. Started playing Nirvana and I've never done that before and not the bass part, With the volume rolled back and less attack with the fingers the Evo was sounding great so I think maybe lowering the pickup might be for me.Those pickups are really sensitive, catch everything you do. Dave from ProBass is doing these basses with 24 hr delivery,a great set up,eye catching looks certainly they're not pretending to be something else all at a really good price. Another thing I just noticed sizewise they're quite small, about the same as my Dean EVO XM and it's a short scale. Worth checking out. Spike Vincent
I've got one of the ones that would result in a certain American manufacturer sending lawsuits if I were to mention what it looks like..Very impressed although the electrics were not particularly well executed. And it's one of the few ( 8 in total) left handed ones.
Bassbadger
I like the ProBass basses.
Rockin' Good News! Thanks kodiakblair for your review and recommendation. Enjoy your brace of basses! David
fusdepilee
Really tempted by one of the black Vantage Retrovibes. Seems like people in general quite rate them?
police squad
I had one of the lawsuit style basses. Used it in a Jam tribute. It was excellent. Looked great and sounded very good. Wish I hadn't sold it.
Marc S
Hmmm, one of the "law suit" types has come up for sale, second-hand, near me They do look good, and I really shouldn't, but I'm tempted cos they're much cheaper than the alternative..... Are they really as good as I've heard people say?

12stringbassist
I own a RV5 R*c replica. The pickups are mighty and the neck is great. I have got the action where I want it. The only thing that is an issue with the bass is that the bar that goes over the TRC is hard to fasten down tight and alternative string restraint is needed.
