Jonesy64
Does anyone here use this Rockbag? http://www.thomann.de/gb/rockbag_rackbag_rb24200.htm I might be being a bit thick but although it is described as a rack bag is it actually just a protective bag to carry a rack size amp head in? It is hard for me to tell from the photos and description... I am looking for something to carry my SVT3 Pro around in and don't want to mount it in a rack case. geoffbyrne
There's actually rails in these & you bolt the rack unit into it as you would into a rack box. I have a 3U in the cupboard surplus to requirement. G.
Jonesy64
Thanks for the reply Geoff.....to ask a general question, i assume then that the bag is designed the same way as a rack case...is it just the fact that it is made from plywood with a padded cover plus pockets, strap etc.... ......but would you still sit it on top of your cab same as a regular rack case? BassBod
They aren't very durable - the zips on the Rockbags don't last very long at all (I've got two with various problems, including the rack rails coming undone form the walls - held on with two small nuts, no washers). I'd go for the Gator version, but don't expect years of service. They are good for car travel, with a fairly light amp. May be an idea to buy one with a free space above for cooling. Jonesy64
Sod it, mind made up...I'm going for the extra durability of a rack case. Just need to find one that has a lid depth deep enough to accomodate the handles on the front of the 3 Pro.
