Horizontalste Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I have a Stingray with the raw maple neck and I wondered if I had it lacquered would it make it more stable? Also, would it affect the resale value and how much would one expect to pay for a professional finish? Ta Steve Quote
Bolo Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I can't imagine a laquer finish affecting stability on a neck. Quote
Horizontalste Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 I'm kinda hoping it might improve it a bit, even the slightest temperature shift effects it. Thought if it was sealed it might behave it's self. Quote
Bolo Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Have you tried gunstock oil & gunstock wax like EB recommends? Otherwise there might be a real issue with the neck, in which case you'd best contact an EB Musicman stockist or the distributor for the UK. Quote
Horizontalste Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Yeah it gets oiled & waxed about twice a year. The dirt is starting to build up on it too. Higher maintenance than I'd like to be honest. Quote
